Machine basting - $.005 per square inch (1/2 cent). Large stitching across the quilt for those who want to hand quilt.

Basic pantograph or meandering - $.01 per square inch (1 cent). Single pattern sewn edge to edge in blended rows, or meandering over entire quilt.  (Click here for patterns.)

Custom pantograph - $.015 to $.02 per square inch (1 ½ to 2 cents). Single intricate pattern sewn edge to edge in blended rows over entire quilt.

Custom quilting - $.02 per square inch (2 cents) per square inch. Freehand design, templates, continuous curve outlining, medium cross hatching, medium stippling and some feather designs.

Heirloom quilting - $.03 (3 cents) per square inch. Small intricate stitching resulting in a heavily quilted look. Includes stitch in the ditch, close cross hatching, small scale stippling and separate block, sashing and border treatments.

Faux trapunto - $.04 (4 cents) per square inch, multiple layer batting in detailed design.

To calculate price: prices are calculated on square inch. Multiply the length of the quilt top by the width of the quilt. (Ex: 92" x 72" = 6624.) Then multiply by the cost of the type of quilting. (Basic pantograph - 6624 x .01 = 66.24 or $66.24, custom quilting - 6624 x .02 = 132.48 or $132.48.) This will give you an estimate on the cost of the quilting. I will calculate all expenses and let you know once I receive your quilt.

Quilting prices include thread and will be matched to your quilt top as close as possible or based on your selection. The same color thread is used in both top and bobbin. I do carry specialty threads, there will be an additional thread charge.

Extra's:

Sewing seam in backing - $10.00 per seam
Turning fee - $10.00 if necessary to remove quilt and re-pin for directional borders.
Binding - $1.25 per linear foot (one side stitched - for you to hand finish)
$2.50 per linear foot double machine binding topstitched with decorative stitch
Shipping - $9.00 for most sizes. Quilts over 90" long ~ $14. $100 insurance included, additional insurance $2.50 per hundred. $5.00 for all APO/FPO addresses.
Batting - many selections available.

Batting:

I stock Quilter's Dream batting in both cotton and poly. This is the finest batting ever. It does not contain scrim, glue or binders. It is lightweight, soft and drapable with several lofts available. Cotton comes in white and natural, poly comes in white and black. This batting is perfect for hand and machine quilting and can be stitches up to 8 inches apart. The batting can also be purchased for personal use.

Batting prices:

Select - medium loft, most widely used

100% polyester batting - $5.00/yard, 108" wide. This batting has a nice (puffy) loft and drapes well.

Backing Fabric:

100% Rangefinder 108"muslin - $9.50. Other backing fabrics will be available soon.
